An Engine is Wheeled
This is a magnificent 1950’s example of Railway Poster Art .
It shows a British Railways Standard Tank Engine being overhauled at Derby works .
Around 1840 , three small railway companies ( The North Midland , the Midland Counties and the Birmingham and Derby ) set up a shared workshop behind Derby Station which was the beginnings of 150 years of railway heritage and engineering skills which benefited the whole nation.
