Product Details

Broadstairs

The name of the town derives from a series of steps that led up to the Shrine of St Mary’s on the top of the cliffs . In the 19 th Century a jetty was built , boats started to arrive , and the tourist trade began . Being only 80 miles from London the railway companies seem to have had two campaigns to promote the town, and this poster, from 1929 is from that period.
