Cambridge – King’s College Chapel
The stunning and sumptuous interior of King’s College Chapel is depicted here during the visit there in 1564 By Queen Elizabeth 1 st.
The history of the building is complex but by 1506 the first five bays were complete with a timber roof . In 1508 the final construction push began and the fabulous fan vaulting was undertaken by master mason John Wastell and was completed in 1515. It is, without doubt ,one of the finest examples of late Gothic architecture in Britain .
