Canterbury Cathedral
Canterbury was chosen as the seat of the first Christian archbishop in England in 603AD. In 1011 the Danish invaders burnt both the Cathedral and the town . It suffered again in 1067 and 1174 but was rebuilt each time . The Cathedral has a magnificent set of stained glass windows , many of them dating from the late 12 th and 13 th Centuries . The oldest window dates from 1180. This is a Southern Region ( 1923 -1947 ) poster from 1927
