Carlisle
This is a rare joint collaboration between LMS and LNER , which resulted in this early 1930’s Poster of Carlisle.
From the mid 1750’s the town grew steadily and became an important centre for textile manufacturing .The location of Carlisle at the entrance to two valleys through the Scottish uplands and where routes from the east and south converged, made Carlisle a target for railway companies
