Clacton- on – Sea
Ever since the railways arrived in the late 1880s , Clacton has been a popular seaside resort and been given a lot of poster attention. It was actually founded as a resort in the 1870’s , when steamers of the Woolich Steam Packet Company docked at the pier, after the trip from the East End, so the day trip “experience” had already begun before the railways arrived This is a 1935 view of the sea front.
