Cleethorpes
Originally a small fishing village , it’s miles of sea and sand enabled the town to develop from around 1820 as a place for sea bathing and recreation .
It's direct rail link to Sheffield prompted the production of many posters , adorning stations all over south Yorkshire encouraging the annual summer pilgrimage from grimy towns and cities to the sunny seaside.
