Dover
The Southern Railway may not have had the streamlined expresses of the LMS and LNER , but they undoubtedly had more of an integrated vision of transport and developed a fleet of ships for short sea crossings that was well ahead of its rivals . Their vessels were innovative sleek and comfortable .
This poster shows the TS “ Invicta “ leaving Dover on the “ Golden Arrow “ sea route to Calais, and was issued in 1946.
