DURHAM CASTLE
The full grandeur of the Castle , high above the river wear is shown in this poster . In the late 1920’s it was discovered that the north – west corner of the Castle , and the Great Hall in particular , was in danger of sliding down the slope into the river Wear . Major work was undertaken to install new foundations . This poster is from late 1928.
