This poster was an attempt by LNER to emulate the earlier Caledonian Railways posters that put the subject matter into the borders with a central framed subject to draw the eye . In reality , the railway line is almost at the same level as the Castle, so as you approach the station , the actual perspective is very different than in the poster .

The outside dimensions of these posters are 70cm x 50cm ( 27.6 inches x 19.7 inches ) designed to fit a standard IKEA frame.
