The Silver Forth

This superb painting of the famous Forth Bridge and dawn over the firth was used in this classic 1935 LNER poster.

The artist is acknowledged as the inventor of dazzle camouflage painting which helped to disguise the shape of ships from U boat periscopes during WW1.
