Tranquil Galloway in South West Scotland is painted in this 1950 BR ( ScR )poster.

The scene is probably north of Castle Douglas looking towards New Galloway and the Southern Uplands. This is the area where the railway runs to Stranraer so one can imagine passengers seeing the stunning views from the carriage windows in former times .
