GREAT YARMOUTH
This poster appeared before the “ It’s Quicker by Rail “ slogan was used in railway advertising so it must date from around 1931- 1932 . That so much of the image is taken up by the red cloak / beach towel / sail , makes quite a statement , and is very eye catching – exactly , of course , as was intended !
The history of Gorleston – on – Sea actually predates that of Yarmouth as it was included in the Domesday Book.
