Harwich for the Continent
This is one of the five magnificent posters painted by the Artist for the Railway Companies on this subject.
Frank Mason was a master at marine subjects and painted in oils and watercolours as well as being a master at etching , illustrating and an author .
He was the son of a railway clerk and was born in Seaton Carew in Co Durham . He became ,quite justifiably , one of the LNER’s “ Big Five” artists . This poster is from 1934
