The Palace of Holyrood
This is a 1960 British Railways( ScR ) poster of the Royal Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh . In late June or early July, HM the Queen plays host to thousands of people at her annual garden parties in the Palace grounds.
The setting depicts the ancient volcanic plug which is “Arthurs Seat “which was eroded by glaciers and leaves the rock faces seen today in the background of the building.
