This is a 1951 Portrayal of beautiful and tranquil Lynmouth shortly before the tragic flood of 1952 when , after more than 9 inches of rain fell in two days onto an already saturated Exmoor , the man made culvert filled with debris , and the river Lyn rose to unprecedented levels causing more than 100 buildings to be swept away and causing the death of 34 people
