Lytham St Annes
Lytham is known for its superb golf courses as well as it’s resort attractions .
It was planned in the nineteenth century by Elijah Hargreaves who saw the local success at Blackpool and wanted to provide a more “ refined “ resort with a quieter environment than it’s neighbour .
This is a classic railway poster aimed squarely at the family holiday market on the sandy shoreline .It shows the entrance to St Anne’s pier built in the Tudor style and added in 1899 to the pier which had already been built in 1885. This used to be the home of steamer services to Liverpool and Blackpool.
