Norwich
The market square shown here is dominated by the church of St Peter Mancroft which dates from 1430 . The market dates from the 11 th century and grew such that by the 14 th Century it was a regional trading hub which held real sway in England. This painting was commissioned by the city council and shows a wonderful English Market day around 1930.
LNER used this colourful artwork for their poster.
