This is a wonderfully detailed poster issued by British Rail but the original work was almost certainly painted many years before.

It also shows the coats of arms going back to 1225 . In the foreground is the great quadrangle of Christ Church , the dome of the Radcliffe Camera and the white spire of St Mary’s on the High Street.
