Redcar – The New Pavilion
This is a BR ( NER ) Poster from the 1960 ‘s depicting the wonderful beach and the New Pavilion . This was built on the site of the old Victoria Pier at Coatham and was intended to be at the entrance to the main pier which was almost 2000ft long . A ship collision shortened the pier, and later storms and other mishaps meant that it finally had to be demolished in 1928 .
