In the early 1850’s seaside development began, and shortly after WW2 British Railways began a prolonged advertising campaign all over the south Lancashire area to encourage mass influxes of trippers to the clean waters, safe sands and sunny ambience of coastal locations like Rhyl and Prestatyn
The children saw a town where the whole seafront was covered with attractions such as Punch and Judy.
