Roker and Seaburn
You can almost feel the heat of the sun in this poster, and the image of the little child protecting the Ice Cream from the dog is classic .
The now merged towns of Roker and Seaburn are at the coast where the river Wear runs into the sea and , once again , of course , grew up as resorts with clean fresh air , once the railways could bring the workers and their families out to the coast from the grimy industrial heartlands
