This is a wonderful portrayal of Evening Elegance on the Promenade at Scarborough. NER had the lead in commercial art at this time and this is a stunning example. Some of the best railway posters ever made were devoted to travel to Scarborough and this is one of the earliest .The colour , composition and subject matter was rarely matched for many years after. The originals of this poster are much sought after at auction. The National Railway Museum have a very rare copy of a quadruple sized " Quad Royal " version of this poster .
