The Tay Bridge
This famous poster is of the Tay Bridge in Dundee and was issued by British Railways in 1952.
This is the second bridge at that site following the destruction of the original cast Iron bridge during a storm in 1879, with the tragic loss of 75 lives .
The current bridge is constructed from 150,000 tons of iron , steel , concrete and bricks, was opened in July 1887, and remains in use today .
