Sidmouth
Sidmouth is a lovely little town which is set in a small valley , sheltered on three sides, which gives it a mild micro-climate that visitors can enjoy at most times of the year and it was this that the railways exploited . Sidmouth station was opened in 1874 . The 10 mile walk along the cliff tops from Seaton to Sidmouth via the South Coast Path is recommended but challenging. This poster was commissioned by BR for southern railways in 1958.
