Smiling Somerset
Picturesque old- world Dunster in north west Somerset ,is portrayed here for the GWR in 1927. The Yarn Market is shown centre left, and originates from about 1590, when Dunster was the centre of a thriving wool trade. The octagonal building has a central stone column which supports a heavy wooden frame . This in turn carries a circular canopy topped with slate and a series of gables under the sloping roof.
