Southend- on- Sea
The Pier at Southend , at 1.3 miles long , is the longest in the world.
It has it’s own railway system and featured in most of the Southend artwork produced for the Railway Companies over the years.
This early LNER poster from 1929 shows the pier entrance and there is a general air of affluence and elegance about the town , reflecting that, at that time , it was the place to see and be seen .
