Sussex Coast and Downs
In 1783 the Prince Regent arrived in Brighton with his long - time friend Mrs Fitzherbert and in 1787 he started work on his own Royal Pavilion, which ,
over the next thirty years , grew into an amazing Palace. It is a cross between an Indian Palace and St Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow .Nothing like it was built in this country before , and nothing has appeared like it since !
