Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay is sheltered by hills behind the town and mountains to the south and west . British Railways produced many posters , season after season as part of their regional campaigns in the 1950’s, although this poster was produced in 1930 and would have been seen in the stations in the Manchester ,Liverpool and possibly even Birmingham areas . The Station was built on a curve so the trackbed is cambered , resulting in the trains coming to rest on a tilt . Struggling with heavy suitcases, it was not a good way to start a vacation !
