Sadly , the clarity and crispness of this poster is not as high as we would like because the quality of the original we had to work was less than wonderful . The surrounding white border is also quite large . It is still a lovely poster though, and it's lack of sharpness is reflected in the reduced price.
Whitby
This is a wonderful panoramic picture of Whitby Bay in North Yorkshire .
It shows the sweep of the bay and the protective piers which guard the narrow entrance to the harbour , much needed when a storm blows in off the cold North Sea . The Abbey ruins can be seen on the headland above the town . The first monastery was founded here in 657 AD and it became one of the most important religious centres in the Anglo – Saxon world.
