Whitley Bay Lighthouse
This is an evocative 1951 British Railways Poster of a bygone time, although children still love to play in the rockpools today. The Lighthouse was built in 1898 and although is now out of commission as a lighthouse , it remains as a visitor centre which still attracts many visitors who enjoy climbing the 137 steps for the views from the top .
