The Wye Valley
This poster puts us at Symonds Yat where the river Wye has cut its way between sandstone to the north and limestone to the south . This has left deep gorges flanked by tree- clad sides and, especially in Autumn , a beauty that few places can match . The poster was commissioned by GWR in 1946 but was actually painted in the 1930’s
