York at Daffodil Time

This beautiful image of Spring outside the Great Wall at York is listed as “ from a Photograph by the Yorkshire Evening Press “ and coloured by Arthur Peel .

We now believe however, that the Poster was lithographed from an original painting by Arthur Peel which had indeed been based on a photograph, taken from a slightly different angle, which had originally come from a cutting from the newspaper, and sent to him by a relative .
